Brown Bear of the Pyrenees

Discover the magic hidden in the Pyrenees, home to a population of brown bears. Being able to observe them is not easy, they have a wide expanse of territory to move through, and they are also elusive. But we have a long history of watching bears and we have great experience both in national and international territory.

We know this animal perfectly as well as the terrain through which it moves. With all the information we collect, we will try to locate ourselves in the best areas to wait and be able to observe them. Of course, always with a safety distance and respecting the environment, we do not want to leave a mark or be seen by them.

When the Bear of the Pyrenees season arrives, our specialist moves to the field and begins the search and location of these plantigrades. To do this, he will use different techniques, but above all, he will be able to put into practice all the experience acquired in all the years of work.

Explore the territory of the brown bears with us, we will walk trails and enter the forests that they use, leaving all kinds of traces in their path. We will look for traces and analyze all the signs that make us think that we are getting closer to our protagonist.

Learn about the curiosities of bears and their habitat, as well as the rest of the Pyrenean fauna species, such as foxes, deer, roe deer, wild boar…

Enjoy the moment when we find the great Bear of the Pyrenees, we will do everything in our hands so that you can observe and photograph it.

We offer two types of outings, the Expedition in Bear territory, 5 days in the mountains looking for traces and waiting, we will establish a base camp from which we will move. And the other modality is the Safari Bearof the Pyrenees, a weekend of observations sleeping in lodgings in the area.

Bellowing Deer In Pyrenees

The bellowing is deer´s mating season, males have spent the summer grazing in the upper parts of the mountains and begin to descend, emitting a loud characteristic sound with which they announce their arrival on the battlefield.

Each male tries to get a group of hindswith whom he intends to mate, but he must keep this aren safe from other males and at the same time try to attract as many females as possible.​

When a male tries to take away one of the females he has controlled from another, it is when the chases and fights between males take place, thus demonstrating the willingness to protect and maintain leadership in the area. They rarely get to fight, but when it does, it’s really impressive to watch.

An outing to spend in a group, with family or friends in the company of the little ones. The waiting points are easily accessible and do not require a high physical level. Observations are from a distance.
